Introducing the 10th project in our Wild Barrel Series: IZARD BROWN ALE. Wild Barrels Project No. 10 is a blend of Easy Tiger Mexican-Style Lager, Love Honey Bock, and Forest Queen Milk Stout aged on fresh orange peel and freshly toasted Izard Chocolate cocoa nibs. Expect aromas and flavors of zesty orange balanced with rich chocolate and underlying notes of stone fruit, red wine, oak, and Brettanomyces funk. Available at 4pm today in our taproom. ππ«π»

PARTY ANIMALS. π π Y'all know how to party with purpose. Our Easy Tiger release party was a delicious success. Together with our friends at the Little Rock Zoo, we raised $500 for MYCAT, a group dedicated to the conservation of the Malayan tiger, a critically endangered animal. MYCAT works on habitat restoration, education initiatives in the native areas where the Malayan tiger roams, as well as other important initiatives. Thanks for helping us save these beautiful animals!

BRAMBLE ON. The 3rd annual release of our seasonal Blackberry Bramble Wheat features a new name, a bright new can design, and even more all-natural, fresh blackberries brewed into one fine beer. 4,600 pounds of blackberries, in fact. Tangerine and Clementine-forward aromatics and a jewel-toned fuschia color offer a bright start to each sip. Grainy, pillowy, unfiltered wheat flavors combine with a crisp, tart berry zing for a truly refreshing, effervescent beer experience. Blackberry Bramble will be released on draft, crowlers, growlers, and 6 packs to go (12 packs coming soon!) in our taproom on Monday, April 23rd. DANGEROUSLY DRINKABLE. Join us on Monday for the release of Lost Forty's FIRST Belgian Tripel. This is the first time we've brewed this style, so we kept it OG. Inspired by Trappist breweries like Westmalle and La Trappe, ours is reminiscent of traditional Tripels. We have a limited amount of 4 packs that are sure to go quickly, so come early to get your paws on a couple. #FreshcutMonday begins at 4pm.
BARLEYWINES ARE OUR LOVE LANGUAGE. π Next Freshcut Monday, we're releasing Wild Barrels Project No. 7: Barrel-Aged Funky Barleywine, and Bourbon Barrel Year-Conditioned Barleywine. Grant and Dylan are here to spread the good news. And chug 11% beers.
GETTING TANKED. Weβre installing two new 90-barrel fermenters today. That's a lot of beer, y'all. Hope youβre thirsty. π»
STOP. COLLABORATE AND LISTEN. Today we're brewing our collaboration with Stone's Throw Brewing - a Tulsi, or Holy Basil, Gruit (pronounced like fruit) we're calling COMMON GRUIT. (Thanks to Common Roots Co-Op for providing the Tulsi.) Gruit or Grut (German for herb) Ale is essentially any brew that uses an herbal mixture as a flavoring or bittering agent in place of hops. Herbal collections making up gruit were the original βhopsβ before the 15th and 16th centuries. We also used a blend of Dunbar Garden yeast and a Belgian yeast that Stone's Throw uses for their house Belgian strain. We'll be releasing Common Gruit on #InternationalGruitDay - February 1st. Find it on draft at both the Lost Forty and Stone's Throw taprooms.
SPIN IT. LET'S BEGIN IT. Introducing our newest brewhouse addition - our brand new and shiny CENTRIFUGE. Centrifuges do their thing β removing yeast and other solids (like hops) β by whirling the beer around at high speeds, causing denser solids to be spun out of the liquid through gravitational force. Brewers love centrifuges for removing yeast because the process doesnβt strip away desired hop and malt flavors like pushing beer through a filter. Additionally, less dissolved oxygen ends up getting introduced into the beer from the process. What does that mean for our beer? Overall, more flavorful, better-tasting beer.

TRASH PANDAS: First they steal your garbage, then they steal your heart. π€ Our newest batch, just canned this morning, features Denali hops, a hop variety bursting with flavor. Called Nuggetzilla by some, this hop is rich in pineapple, citrus, and pine flavors, though it can often come off as spicy as well. Available on draft and in 4 packs in our taproom - pick some up today!

We celebrate this good good holiday because December 5th marks a return to the rich traditions of craft fermentation and distillation, the legitimacy of the American bartender as a contributor to the culinary arts, and the responsible enjoyment of alcohol as a sacred social custom.
